August 2010 - Introducing Bob Nicholls

Bob Nicholls has been involved as a technical consultant for over 50 hybrid sites over the last three years in several African countries. He is based in Johannesburg for 8 months of the year at Contract Kitting’s Head office in Kyalami Business Park.

Every third month he resides in Christchurch, New Zealand where he works in partnership with Enatel to refine DC power solutions for the customers in Africa. Bob previously held many customer focused positions at Swichtec, Invensys and Eaton (previously known as Powerware).

All of these positions involved getting new DC Power solutions to market through setting up distributors and meeting with Telco Operators in over 15 countries around the world. Many of the challenges Africa is experiencing (going forward) are similar to what Asia, China and South America went through and overcame in Bob’s past roles.
