Director
Ettiene started his career at Telkom. With degrees in Engineering, Commerce and Business Administration, a strong management acumen has seen him serve in executive management positions for the last 15 years at Aberdare Cables, Tyco (where he was based in Belgium) and most recently TIS before taking the reigns at Contract Kitting. He has been involved in the successful planning and execution of company turnaround, diversification and growth strategies. A keen sailor, he is married to Karin and they have 2 children. |
Pieter Bouwer

A true industry veteran, Pieter offers more than 30 years' valuable experience of the ICT sector where he served in several executive, and general management positions. During the earlier part of his career, Pieter was involved with companies such as Olivetti, Amdahl, ICL and Philips; in the later part, he served as an Executive Director at Sybase SA and more recently he was one of the Group Executive Directors at the AST Group, now called GijimaAst. His executive responsibilities included strategy, the industry solutions businesses, the managed services businesses as well as marketing. Pieter is a founding member of ConvergeNet Holdings. |
Tim Modise
Non-executive director
Tim has been a well-known broadcasting personality for more than 27 years now. He was a political analyst for Credit Suisse First Boston until 2002 and chaired the Proudly South African campaign until 2005. He received the Best Broadcaster Radio award in 1991 and the Rotary award for Community Service in 1999. In 2001, Tim won the Reconciliation award, the TV and Radio Presenter award, the President's award and the Communicator of the Year award. Subsequent to that, he also received the Paul Harris award (2002), the "Best Man" award (2004) and the Old Mutual leadership award (2004). The prestigious Jaime Brunet award for the promotion of human rights, previously awarded to the Dalai Lama, was bestowed on Tim in 2003. He currently serves on the board of Sizwe as a Non-executive director where he holds a minority share. |
Sindile Peteni

Sindile is a UCT B.Sc. graduate and brings his many years of leadership experience across a variety of industries to ConvergeNet Holdings. Sindile has been a contract manager with the Urban Foundation, a technical services manager with the Uluntu Utility Company and the managing director of Khagula Property Developers, amongst others. He is currently involved in fishing, shipping, technology and petroleum, and serves as director on the board of Basil Read Holdings Ltd. Sindile is a founding member of ConvergeNet Holdings. |
Noel Andrews
Non-executive director
Noel is a qualified Electrical Engineer, active within the telecommunications industry for over 18 years. His areas of expertise include network implementation solutions and RF product design. Having started his career at Colloseum Acoustics, Noel held management positions for nearly 2 decades, including a very successful 9 year spell as Managing Director of Contract Kitting having co-founded the company in 2001. With an ever falling golf handicap, he enjoys sailing and belongs to both Richards Bay and Royal Cape Yacht clubs. |
Dumisani Tabata

Enrolled for Articles of Clerkship in 1982. He was admitted to practice as an Attorney of the Supreme Court of South Africa in 1984 and the same year became one of the founding partners of the Firm, SMITH TABATA & VAN HEERDEN, King William’s Town. They merged with other companies including Barnes and Ross and Linde Dorrington, whereafter it changed its name to Smith Tabata Inc. Still a director of the Firm and of Smith Tabata Buchanan Boyes (“STBB”). Mr. Tabata has a keen interest in Human Rights law and Humanitarian law. In 1993 he attended the International Human Rights Course at the René Cassin Institute, Strausburg and the Human Rights Committee of the United Nations, Geneva. In 1996, Mr. Tabata was as Acting Judge of the High Court and served in the position for 3 terms. In April 1999, appointed by the Premier of the Eastern Cape, as one of the Joint Liquidators of the Transkei Agricultural Corporation (“TRACOR”). After the advent of democracy, Mr. Tabata regularly acted as attorney for Government departments, local authorities and parastatals. |
